About Us

Noel has practiced as a lawyer in the Whitby & Esk Valley area for over 35 years. He grew up in Sleights and attended Eskdale and Whitby School before studying for his law degree at Nottingham Trent University. After graduating in 1984 he moved back to Whitby, taking up articles with the old Whitby firm Buchannan and White.

Having qualified in 1987 he remained with the firm for a number of years, firstly as an assistant and then as a partner. He continued as a mixed general practice lawyer for a number of years and currently also sits as a part time Presiding Member in the First Tier Tax Tribunal.

He now offers the services he specialises in through his own company - Noel Barrett Legal Services.

For local clients who are unable to travel to the office, Noel is willing to meet with them in their own homes. This would not raise any charges for mileage or travel time.
